Bath (and Bristol)

On the way back from Wales we stopped over at a small campsite on the outskirts of Bath. We headed to the city centre via the park and ride for a few hours before driving cross country for to visit my eldest daughter Lauren.

Being mid-week and out of high season the city was quite empty, so with the glorious weather we lucked out.

We didn’t have a huge amount of time so simply checked out the main tourist spots.

It was a lovely way to spend a few hours before Lauren finished work. She lives a mere 30 minutes or so from Bath.
The renovation…

We spent the evening (and next morning) with Lauren and Andy at their newish house which they are renovating.
The entire place is getting a facelift with the biggest job being the loft extension. To keep costs to a minimum they’ve only had the builders in to do the first part of 1st fix. Everything else from the insulation, wiring, plaster boarding, plastering etc is being done by Andy and Lauren. They’re doing an amazing job!
Luckily Andy is an architect so they have managed to control costs in that space too.
We spent a bit of time in their allotment, which is a stone’s throw from the house. Lauren made us an amazing vegetarian meal consisting of produce they’d grown too… they may even invest in some chickens soon (for their eggs). Living the ‘Good Life’.
