Barton on Sea – Hampshire (July 25)

A lovely short trip to Barton on Sea to visit my parents at their home on the south coast.

We arrived without much notice, but as ever, were warmly welcomed and spent the afternoon in the garden catching up. Before sunset we headed up the road to the local pub, a quaint bar with a huge garden and Gin Bar overlooking the Isle of Wight. The bar is called The Cliff House – aptly named.

As usual in this neck of the woods, the weather was amazing, it appears to have its own micro climate! This was one of the reason they moved here to retire, almost three decades ago.

We ended up staying overnight (which was needed given the wine we got through), and didn’t leave until middle of the afternoon the next day!

It’s always lovely coming here, only 40 minutes away from my Southampton home.
