Wedding – Surrey (July 25)

Not exactly travels, but it was a lovely experience in a county we usually travel through to go to other places.
Sarah and Phil got married in a quaint place near the village of Mickleham, a venue called the Burford Bridge Hotel, along the Mole Valley near Box Hill.
The venue was only a short drive from home, so we arrived early and checked into the hotel so we could enjoy the day without worrying about the journey home.

The weather was mostly dry and gorgeous, so we spent the afternoon outdoors both before and after the ceremony .

The speeches were all conducted before the meal, which was both unusual and ideal, as it allowed everyone an opportunity to relax and not have the usual build up of nerves as speech time approaches!

The bride, Sarah was Emma’s bridesmaid at her wedding thirty two years ago, when Sarah was a child.

The meal was scrumptious and the night was incredibly good fun.

We shared a table with Lizzie and Ian and their kids and partners who, like us, spent most of the evening dancing… well, at least throwing some shapes in an effort to mimic the this ancient pastime.

So all in all a lovely day.
…And congratulations to Sarah and Phil.
